Streetside Restaurant. These are everywhere. I think the food tastes pretty good and it is usually cheap. You don't want to eat street food too much though because it will generally mess with a foreigner's stomach.
Typical street closer to downtown.
People will come to the city to find work and often live in small apartments. These are a little run-down.
Tuk Tuk. It is basically a motorcycle pulling a little carriage and it serves as a taxi. Everywhere we go we have people ask us "Sir/Madam, tuk tuk?"
These guys are delivering ice to restaurants. They have big blocks of it in the back and when they arrive at a customers business or house they just pull out a machete and cut them a large block of ice.
Drawing by one of the girls who came to the Safe House.
The National Museum. On a Saturday afternoon Ryan and I decided to visit the museum to see artifacts from the 12th century. It is a different kind of museum experience than back home, as artifacts are usually roped off and glassed in. In this place you are not supposed to touch the statues or take pictures of them, but you can get right up to them. A lot of the statues are of different Buddhist symbols, so as we walked through the museum there were also individuals putting out offerings (flowers, food, candy, drinks, etc) in front of some of the statues.
The garden in the middle of the middle of the National Museum. We could take pictures here!

It is the rainy season!
There have been many days when Ryan or I have arrived home soaked. We try to race the rain home, but we often get caught in it. Ryan has come home with his dress clothes soaking wet, but we are thankful that the rain has yet to catch him on the way to work.
Streets flood when it is raining, but usually quickly go down when it stops.
Girls in their uniforms walking down the street on their way home from school.
The water started coming over the curve one day at the boys center. The boys had fun playing in the water and trying to kick it from coming closer to the building.
